Renowned French Curator and Art Dealer Valérie-Anne Giscard d'Estaing

Praised for her expertise as a French curator and art dealer, Valérie-Anne Giscard  d’Estaing  is a serial   entrepreneur who splits her time between California and France. Launching Photo12 in 2000, a French photographic archive agency headquartered in Paris, Ms. Giscard d’Estaing also founded an Art Gallery, Galerie XII in the historic Le Marais district of Paris in 2007 and in Santa Monica (California) in 2018. The gallery focuses on contemporary narrative photography, participates in several international Art Fairs each year. The program for 2023 ━ 2024 includes exhibitions by Erwin Olaf, the celebrated Dutch Photographer who passed away in September 2023, Mona Kuhn with her new project “Kings Road” during Paris Photo 2023 and Paolo Ventura who will be on the walls of the Bergamot Station Arts Center space during the 2024 Frieze Week.

During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Giscard d’Estaing worked in publishing, a field that she was very passionate about. During her distinguished tenure in the industry, which spanned more than 20 years, Ms. Giscard d’Estaing released an annual publication of “The World Book of Inventions” both abroad and in the U.S. in eight different languages every year between 1984 and 2000. She also published a three-volume memoir for her father Valéry Giscard d’Estaing (President of France, 1974-1981). Highly educated, Ms. Giscard d’Estaing received a master’s degree in political science and government from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris in 1974.
