FOUNDER and CREATIVE DIRECTOR: Carlos Benitez, Art dealer / collector / inventor and entrepreneur. Carlos Benitez founded ACCA in 2012 bringing his knowledge to the art world at large, representing works from Jean-Michel Basquiat to The World’s most Valuable Chess Set by Colin Burn. He developed a reputation for staging and developing onsite, off-site and online quality exhibitions of contemporary art from Los Angeles to Miami and China.
CO-FOUNDER, CEO EDITOR-IN-CHIEF ACCA: Maya Ito is the Co-Founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief of ACCA Journal, as well as an international art curator and artist manager recognized for fostering dialogue across cultures. Her work moves fluidly between art, media, and international engagement, creating meaningful connections between Eastern and Western perspectives.
Through exhibitions, editorial leadership, and distinguished collaborations, she has established herself as a notable voice in cross-cultural exchange. In 2026, she received the Women Who Shine Award from the City of Beverly Hills, an honor signed by all City Council members. She has served as a volunteer at the Getty Center since 2019 and was a volunteer council member for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Monica from 2010 to 2020. She speaks Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and English.
