In a spectacular convergence of haute couture and surrealist sculpture, the House of Dior celebrates the first anniversary of its exceptional New York and Beverly Hills flagship locations. In homage to Christian Dior’s unwavering passion for creativity, British artist Alex Chinneck has reimagined the urban landscapes of America’s most iconic cultural epicenters, weaving a narrative that honors an editorial romance dating back to 1947. At the House of Dior on 57th Street in New York, nine monumental, museum-quality sculptures transform everyday emblems of "the city that never sleeps." Yellow taxis, traffic lights, and public clocks are masterfully bent and tangled with a whimsical, gravity-defying lyricism that blurs the line between public installation and high fashion. Meanwhile, at the heart of the House of Dior Beverly Hills, five playful works continue this inventive dialogue. Here, the artist reinterprets the distinct topography of Los Angeles, turning ornamental street lamps and automobiles into fluid, poetic forms that resonate deeply with the West Coast creative community.
